Action Plan
Stone Independents as a political entity, as a group within Stone Town Council and through representation to the borough and county councils, are addressing the following important areas of the development and ongoing life of Stone:
The town centre. We seek to develop and market the town as a place to visit, reside in and do business in and to continually improve the economy of the town centre, the businesses operating within the town and the various festivals and events that the town runs. see more
Leisure. We belive that all Stone residents deserve access to good quality leisure assets and activities within the town, appropriate to the population size and regardless of where they live. see more
Liaison with Stafford Councils. Stafford Borough and County Councils provide many of the facilities and services within Stone and it is important we get the best out of these bodies. see more
Liaison with local organisations. It is important that organisations operating within the town providing services for its residents have an input into how the town develops and how services are provided. see more
The Stone Neighbourhood plan. The plan will determine the boundaries of the settlement and how space within the boundaries is used for residential, commercial and leisure activities. see more
Media. We will use various forms of media to promote the town and to inform interested residents and other parties about the activities of the Stone Independents group. see more
Planning applications. We will review and make recommendations on various planning applications to ensure that they meet the needs of the residents and the town and that Stafford Borough are made aware of the towns needs. see more
