Stone Neighbourhood Plan

For several years, Stone Independents have been developing the Stone Neighbourhood Plan with the help of many of our residents. The draft plan went to referendum in May 2021 and was supported by the residents of Stone and is therefore adopted. The Plan will have legal force with the Stafford borough planning department and will help shape the future commercial and residential development of the town and protect our local green spaces. We believe that it is essential to our future quality of life for Stone residents, workers and visitors. It is vital because the government have placed a development burden on Staffordshire in terms of annual increases in housing and Stone is duty bound to take a proportion of those as the second settlement in Stafford borough. Thank you for your support.

Stone Independents have always supported the development of the plan and supplied the committee chair in Jill Hood. The plan was developed in conjunction with Urban Vision, a professional company with vast experience in this area. Significant investment has been made to get the plan to this stage and that investment is now bearing fruit.
